It’s not that they’re inherently unstable, but there are issues of concurrency and consistency in distributed application development that can give rise to bugs that are hard to trace and reproduce, especially when they’re built on a multitenant platform you can’t control. Things get harder to manage when you’re dealing with autoscaling or having services start on demand using serverless approaches like Azure Functions.What’s needed is a native monitoring technology that’s baked into the platform along with the tools needed to work with that data, either analyzing logs and metrics or responding to that data automatically.
